Habitat Walk with Wildlife Biologist, Travis Hart

Saturday, August 8, 2020, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Slate Valley Trails will be hosting wildlife biologist, Travis Hart, from the VT Department of Fish and Wildlife on Saturday, August 8th from 9 AM to 12:00 PM. Hart is a Wells native currently residing in Poultney, and is excited to share his love of wildlife and forests with the community. This will be a casual walk and talk exploring the field and forest edge along the trails accessible from the Fairgrounds trailhead.

This outing will be of interest to inspiring naturalists, landowners, and those interested in understanding more about how wildlife interacts with the forested landscape. Hart will highlight forest, field, and meadow habitats that attract wildlife, and provide insight into techniques that help improve habitat for wildlife.

This walk will be on rolling terrain, but will not be steep, and will be at a casual pace.

We will be abiding by the most recent State of Vermont and CDC guidelines for trail work and social distancing, including but not limited to: limiting group sizes, wearing masks/face covering and social distancing. Please review the Slate Valley Trails COVID-19 guidelines before you RSVP!

RSVP required. Space limited. Email: info@slatevalleytrails.org. For questions, email or call (802) 673-6990. This outing will meet at the SVT Fairgrounds Trailhead parking located at 131 Town Farm Road in Poultney.
